In the JFSC Monsoon Cup 2026 league stage at VidyaVihar Turf, Mumbai, LAC Game Changers won the toss and opted to field. The decision looked sound from the very first over, as Wealthcrest A lost Yuvi for nought off two balls, caught Aftab Shaikh off the bowling of Mohd Shahidullah Shariff, with the score on one.
Wealthcrest A stumbled to 19 for two when Pushkar fell for one off eight, caught Rahim Lakhani off Akshay. From there, Ameya R Khadye and Yugal Kalra provided the only passage of resistance that the scorecard records. Khadye made 32 off 39 deliveries with three fours, batting with the patience the situation demanded. At the other end, Kalra was the innings’ entertainer — 31 off 17 balls, striking two fours and three sixes, providing the sort of spark that briefly lifted Wealthcrest A from their early troubles.
Yet the revival was short-lived. Khadye was run out — Foram Khambati the man credited — at 62 for three in the ninth over. What followed was a collapse that the fall-of-wicket column tells plainly: 73 for four, 74 for five, 74 for six, 80 for seven. Akhilesh Prabhu and Yash Bhosale each departed without scoring, both leg before — Prabhu to Foram Khambati, Bhosale to Deb M. Varun Nagar made one before Deb M bowled him. Kalra’s lively 31 ended at 80 for seven, bowled by Foram Khambati.
The lower order could not stem the slide. Gauren Sonawane’s 12 off 17 and Sanket’s seven off 12 were the only contributions of note, and both were run out — Mohammad Valiullah Shariff credited on both occasions. Keyur fell run out for one off the final delivery of the 15th over, leaving Aniruddha Chavan unbeaten on five off two. Extras totalled 19, including nine no-balls and six wides.
Foram Khambati, named player of the match, returned figures of three overs for 22 runs and two wickets, and was involved in the run-out of Khadye. Deb M was the most economical of the bowlers to take wickets, with three overs, one maiden, 11 runs and two scalps. Mohd Shahidullah Shariff opened with three for nine and the first breakthrough.
LAC Game Changers overhauled the target of 107 with eight wickets in hand, reaching 107 for two in 11.5 overs. The scorecard does not provide their batting or bowling details for the chase, so the manner of their pursuit is left to those who watched it unfold.
